Foodie Friday! Re-posted off my previous blog Green Chia Smoothie

 
So...I'm trying my best to transform my eating habits. I'm trying my best to become healthy, fit and all around the best I can be. It has been tough but I've manged to loose 26 lbs this last year and I've learned that I can still enjoy each and every food I've ever loved but in extreme moderation. Green smoothies as a dinner or meal replacement have really helped me meet my goals! They are not only very filling but they are super healthy and you can sneak healthy foods into the smoothie that you wouldnt normally eat alone. (spinach in my case) 
Here's the recipe for one of my favorite smoothies:
1/2 banana
1/2 cup melon
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 large handful spinach
1/2 cup Greek yogurt (you can omit if you don't like or can't have dairy)
1 splash coconut milk
1/2-1 tablespoon chia seeds (I don't add them to the mix until the end because they quickly become sticky  and add a strange texture to the smoothie. If you add them to the top at the end and then drink it right away they add a fun crunchy texture!) (Chia is soooo good for you! )
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
(I have a Ninja blender and can't say enough good things about it! Much easier to use and clean than traditional blenders and extremely powerful :)

Welcome to Lovin' the Littles!

It is here I hope to spread love, joy, laughter and new ideas through my own experiences with children, family and all the other little things in life!

A quick bit about me and my plan for this blog:

 Teachable Tuesdays: I am currently a special education teacher and love each and every day I spend with my students. I am constantly learning from them and praying that they are learning from me!. At least 1 post a week will be dedicated to some sort of teaching experience or idea.

Sunny Sundays: I am also a wife, sister, daughter and friend. Since being all those people encompasses so much I also plan to post something in relation to relationships and life once a week!

Foodie Fridays: I love, love, love baking and FOOD! I am currently on a journey to become a healthier me and in the process have managed to loose 24 lbs. this past year. I hope to share healthy recipes, ideas, workouts and all things baking at least once a week as well.

Thankful Thursdays: Without faith I am nothing. I would NEVER tell someone how or what to believe but I myself love Jesus Christ with all my heart. I believe that it is through each other we can learn and grow in His goodness and love. I plan to post something each week that I am thankful to God for or something powerful I've encountered when studying the word, stories, etc...

Simple Saturdays: On Saturdays I hope to post ideas, thoughts, musings, experiences and the million other possibilities that include all the little things in life that make it oh so special!

I can not wait to begin this journey with all of you and hope that we can learn and grow and thrive in this amazing life together!
